Visual design for In-Depth Genomics.
A rich opportunity to work with the founders at In-Depth Genomics to develop the visual design of their website for education and fundraising.
In-Depth Genomics was formed to bring about quicker diagnoses and treatments for patients with rare neurological diseases. Despite being considered rare, 30 million people in the US alone are affected by these types of conditions. With easier access to testing, data and education, In-Depth Genomics goal was to be a catalyst for faster, life-saving treatment plans.

Challenge.
After some preliminary work done on a patient portal, In-Depth came to me to have their site meaningfully designed to reflect their brand and attract patients patients and doctors.
Process.
Research and inspiration. Learning about In-Depth’s work, patients and doctors. Research on the visual history of genomic sequencing.
Design. Studies for color, graphics, typography and rapid logotype and mark development
Concept presentations and collaboration with developers.
Outcome.
The deliverable for IDG was for an overall digital visual identity system which included:
• Photography and video style
• Typography
• Color palette
• Graphics direction and design of key screens
• Voice and tone direction
• Logotype and mark

Getting attention.
Innovate.
The visual concept involved a graphic treatment of genomic sequencing and black and white stock photography that spoke to each of the pages content – home, guide, innovate, invest.
Invest.
An important purpose of the site was to attract investors, and while the site initially helped to create traction, the timeframe also saw a huge drop in the cost of genome sequencing which suspended the organization.

All of the people who made In-Depth great
I kept the genomic sequencing graphics going even on the team and supporters pages.
